Every day, there are countless demands or varying urgencies. Oftentimes, these can be overwhelming. “I have to work, then I have to eat, then I have to exercise, then I have to sleep –”
Pause, gently.
Take a moment
Take a breath.
A deep breath.
There’s a tension that builds up inside you. Anxiety winds up within you. There is no purpose to this. It doesn’t need to be there.
Relax.
Let life flow through you.
Collect your energy in stillness. Don’t look to your phone or distract yourself.
Sit in quietness, loosen your grip on reality.
Trust in the universe.
Have faith in life. Trust that what you need will come to you.
Many people pray, but halfheartedly, with closed hearts. They expect some great gift to appear on their doorstep, like a slap in the face! But lo, that is not how life flows.
What you think you need might not be what your soul actually desires.
Let go of the need for anything, stop chasing after things.
There is meaning in action, joy in taking action, but if an imaginary idyllic end is the goal, then perhaps you are too concentrated on the endpoint, and not the journey. Relish every step, every breath; apply yourself wholly at every moment. The journey itself should be beautiful; the goal, simply a byproduct of the journey.
In this way, you become magnetic. Rather than chasing, you draw towards you what is needed. When you relax, when you let go of urgency and pressure, you have trust, and are open to receive what will come. Rather than controlling, you are allowing the flow of life to support you. Everything you need is woven into your journey. There is peace in that surrender.
If a door closes, it means there’s something more suitable up ahead. There are no setbacks, just pauses. Nothing needs be taken personally.
Much of life feels like chasing butterflies: the faster you run and the harder you grasp, the more cleverly the butterfly slips through your fingers.
